Employment

We've been a progressive PreK–8 school in Cambridge since 1967. What that means for the people who work here: a school small enough that your contributions are visible, a community that takes its mission seriously, and colleagues who chose to be here.

Four convictions guide how we operate: that fully knowing each child is the heart of good education; that there's genuine potential for joy in learning; that learning in community is complex and worth it; and that education has to reckon with the world as it actually is. Those ideas don't live only in classrooms; they shape how the whole organization runs and what we look for in everyone we hire.

We're a genuinely diverse community. Approximately 35% of students and 33% of faculty and staff identify as people of color, families come from more than 15 cities and towns across Greater Boston, and more than 30% of students receive tuition assistance. We welcome candidates whose experiences and perspectives will add to that community, and we particularly encourage candidates of color to apply.

We invest in the people who make Fayerweather go. That includes competitive salaries and medical, dental, and vision coverage, and also the things that reflect how we think about the people on our team: a half-day for professional development every month, generous PD support, six personal days a year, and an employer-matched 403(b) after your first year.

Prepare to be invested in.
