Giving
Why Fayerweather depends on you.
Fayerweather is a school sustained by the people who believe in it — by the families who choose us, by the alums who carry our community forward, by the grandparents and friends who see what is at stake in how children are taught. Your support makes the work possible.
We don’t just welcome family engagement — we depend on it. Our community of caregivers bring their talents, energies, and passions to the school every day. There are dozens of ways to engage: from the Board of Directors to the Parent/Caregiver Association, from annual community events like Big Night Out to treasured school-day traditions like All School Meeting, from classroom field trips to parent/caregiver education nights. In a small school, every contribution is needed and valued.
More than 90% of Fayerweather families also support the school's Solid & Strong CommUNITY Fund — a clear measure of their belief in the value of a Fayerweather education. With additional support from our extended community of grandparents, alums, and other friends, we have completed recent capital campaigns to expand and renovate our building in 2005, build a new playground in 2014, and help the school thrive through the COVID-19 pandemic. Donations to Fayerweather support our students, teachers, and programs today, and ensure that the benefits of a Fayerweather education will be available for generations to come.
Solid & Strong CommUNITY Fund
Our annual giving program — the most direct way to support the day-to-day life of the school. Last year, 100% of our board members contributed and more than 90% of families gave.
We teach in small classrooms, with co-teachers who know each child, through real work that matters to children. This is the school our donors choose to make possible. Tuition does not cover the full cost of educating a child here. Like most independent schools, we depend on voluntary support from parents & caregivers, grandparents, alums, and other community members to bridge the gap between tuition revenue and operating expenses.
